470g sliced cooking apples, peeled100g brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
190g soft bread crumbs
55g butter, melted
175g SUNSWEET prunes, coarsely chopped
80ml SUNSWEET Prune Juice
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C and butter a 9” x 13” shallow baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, prune juice, lemon juice and salt. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs and butter.
- Place 1/3 of the buttered crumbs in the bottom of the baking dish. Top with 1/2 of the apples and prunes.
- Repeat layers, finishing with a layer of crumbs.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 15 minutes more.
- Serve warm with whipped cream.
